What is the version Acrobat installed on your machine. It seems the problem might be permissions on the computer.
You can uninstall Adobe Application Manager and reinstall again Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager
Also you may try to repair disk permissions of your Mac in Safe mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204 , repairing disk permissions:: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/repair-disk-permissions-and-repair-disk
