3. Re: CS3 doesn't recognize Nikon Raw files in Yosemite
c.pfaffenbichler Nov 23, 2014 6:57 AM (in response to PeterInVermont)I’ve reinstalled CS3 but the problems remain.
Did you properly uninstall before reinstalling and run all updates after that?
Does the free DNG Converter process the files?

4. Re: CS3 doesn't recognize Nikon Raw files in Yosemite
PeterInVermont Nov 23, 2014 7:08 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)I properly uninstalled CS3 and manually downloaded the single update I could find: Photoshop 10.0.1.
I haven't tried the DNG converter. Shall I?

5. Re: CS3 doesn't recognize Nikon Raw files in Yosemite
c.pfaffenbichler Nov 23, 2014 7:12 AM (in response to PeterInVermont)Well, if you use the current DNG Converter that tells nothing about why your Photoshop CS3 installation’s ACR does not process the images, but you should be able to precess the files to DNG which you could process with Photoshop.
What is your ACR version (Photoshop > About Plug-In > …)?

7. Re: CS3 doesn't recognize Nikon Raw files in Yosemite
c.pfaffenbichler Nov 23, 2014 7:25 AM (in response to PeterInVermont)You need to update ACR as D700 needs 4.6 at least.

9. Re: CS3 doesn't recognize Nikon Raw files in Yosemite
PeterInVermont Nov 23, 2014 7:52 AM (in response to PeterInVermont)That did the trick.
I followed the instructions for manually installing the Camera Raw 4.6 plug-in
Adobe - Photoshop : For Macintosh : Camera Raw 4.6 update
I had to purge the cache in Bridge, and once I did, the generic thumbnails became proper images.
Thanks again for your help. I'll think twice next time before updating my operating system.
