Adobe Reader version 11.6.3 (the latest version as of November, 2014) is compatible with iOS 7 and 8. However, Apple's App Store can offer the older version 11.2.4 of Adobe Reader for iOS that is compatible with iOS 6.
Please read the following discussion to download and install Adobe Reader for iOS version 11.2.4 on your iPod Touch 4th generation.

5. Re: I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.
Krispy2010 Nov 23, 2014 7:08 PM (in response to MobileDevCK)Thank you so much for your help.
I am currently experimenting other apps to see if they work. Unfortunately, Costco app and NFL mobile app are no longer compatible with my IPod Touch 4th generation. It depends on the app, they have officially upgraded to iOS 7.0 and 8 and there no way I can convert both apps back to its older version. Your instructions are not compatible to apps that have already been upgraded to iOS 7.and 8. -

MobileDevCK Nov 24, 2014 7:36 AM (in response to Krispy2010)Krispy2010,
Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store. Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.

However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned. It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.

If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.

Krispy2010 Nov 24, 2014 9:21 AM (in response to MobileDevCK)I understand the link that you gave me with the instructions were intended to work for Adobe Reader and these instructions were not intended to work with all the other apps.
Off topic, I know this is a forum for Adobe Reader and your company focuses on Adobe technical issue and not iTunes related issue. You're right, the web developers of their app were the ones who can upgrade their app to work for the newer models and we can't rely on instructions that you gave me intended for Adobe Reader to work with other "iOS apps in general."
