Nancy O. Nov 23, 2014 9:39 AM (in response to soliver481)Configuration files are hidden by default. You must show hidden files/folder in your file manager to see them.
Also, have you installed the latest updates for CS6? There were several bug fixes released after 12.0 came out.

soliver481 Nov 23, 2014 10:10 AM (in response to Nancy O.)I was unable to install 12.0.1 so I tried 12.0.3 and the updater said it installed then when I look at "about dreamweaver" it still has 12.0 so I'm not sure if it worked or not.
running OS X 10.9.5 Maverick. I can upgrade to Yosemite but not sure and haven't heard much about bugs.

Nancy O. Nov 23, 2014 10:21 AM (in response to soliver481)The CS6 update to 12.03 doesn't change it in the DW Help > About Dreamweaver screen. I don't know why. It just doesn't.
Don't tempt fate with Yosemite yet. Many people have reported problems with that OS.

Nancy O. Nov 23, 2014 1:14 PM (in response to soliver481)When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences
http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver-cs4-cs5.html
If all else fails, use the CS Cleaner Tools below followed by a software re-install.

Nancy O. Nov 24, 2014 10:40 AM (in response to soliver481)Sounds like DW is not accessible by your OS user account.
Does your user have full admin level privileges?

Then I go to uninstall from the adobe installers and the alias gives me an error that the original cannot be found. That really confuses me. UGH!

soliver481 Nov 25, 2014 8:36 AM (in response to soliver481)I've had a number of issues with DW CS6. I have come to the conclusion that the program is corrupt. This is what I have tried so far:
• In my library/Applications Support/ Adobe:CS* - there is no DW folder to empty corrupt cache.
• Tried removing preferences and set back to default preferences - there is nothing for DW in the utilities folder.
• Tried the cleaner software - My Photoshop and Bridge disappeared!
• My last effort is to uninstall then re-install. I go to Applications/Utilities/Adobe/Adobe Installers click on the alias - the original cannot be found so unable to uninstall.
• I then contact adobe 24/7 chat and they tell me there is no support for this only through forums.
UGH! I just bought the program 1 1/2 year ago been using Adobe products since Photoshop 3.0 and never had this problem with support.
Can someone PLEASE help me? I need to uninstall then re-install my software. PLEASE?

Nancy O. Nov 25, 2014 10:08 AM (in response to soliver481)Try creating a new OS user account. I think your current user account may be corrupted which is why you can't access your software files.

Nancy O. Nov 25, 2014 12:37 PM (in response to soliver481)You're having all kinds of computer problems aren't you?
OS X Mavericks: Set up users on your Mac
If your Mac has multiple users, you should set up an account for each person so he or she can personalize settings and options without affecting other users.
To begin, open Users & Groups preferences, then click the lock icon to unlock it. If necessary, type your password, then click Unlock.
To permit new users to access your shared files or screen, you may need to change settings in the File Sharing, Screen Sharing, or Remote Management pane of Sharing preferences.
Add a user
- In Users & Groups preferences, click Add below the list of users.
- Choose the type of user you want to create from the New Account pop-up menu. Be sure you know the different user types before you choose. For descriptions, see: About users, administrators, groups, and guests
- Type a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
- Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Using a password hint is recommended to help the user remember his or her password.
- Click Create User.
- Depending on the type of user you create, you can also do any of the following:
- To let the user access your shared files and screen using an Apple ID, click Set, then enter the user’s Apple ID. The Apple ID must be the same as an Apple ID entered for the user in Users & Groups preferences on the user’s Mac.
- To let the user reset the password while logging in on this Mac, select “Allow user to reset password using Apple ID.” If this option is dimmed, click Set, then enter the user’s Apple ID.
- For an administrator, select “Allow user to administer this computer.”
- For a child or other managed user, select “Enable parental controls.” Click Open Parental Controls, then set up restrictions for the user.
- For a sharing only user, specify which folders the user can view and whether the user can share your screen. For more information, see:
Create a group
- In Users & Groups preferences, click Add below the list of users.
- Choose Group from the New Account pop-up menu.
- Give the group a name, then click Create Group.
- Select each user and group you want to add to the new group.
Customize the login experience
If you are an administrator, you can specify how the login window looks to all the other users.- In Users & Groups preferences, click Login Options.
- From the “Automatic login” pop-up menu, you can choose one user, or Off. If you choose a user, then whenever the Mac starts up, that user is automatically logged in. Automatic login takes effect the next time you restart the Mac. For better security, don’t set your Mac to automatically log in an administrator.
If you choose Off, then at startup the Mac opens a login window showing all the users.
- Select the options you want. If you have any questions, click the Help button for detailed information.
Convert a standard user to an administrator
Select a standard user or managed user in the list of users, then select “Allow user to administer this computer.”
Let occasional users log in as guests
A guest user account lets others use your Mac without setting up a full account or using someone else’s. You can use parental controls to limit guests’ activities, and specify which folders they can view.
- In Users & Groups preferences, select Guest User in the list of accounts.
- Select “Allow guests to log in to this computer.”
- If you like, select “Enable parental controls,” then click Open Parental Controls. For details about the limits you can set, see: Set up parental controls
- To let guests use your shared folders from another computer on the network, select “Allow guests to connect to shared folders.”
When guests log in, they don’t need a password.
