2. Re: import from DVD to premiere crop issues
Stan Jones Nov 22, 2014 1:42 PM (in response to John T Smith)When someone says "DVD copy," I assume they mean the video(s) were authored to a DVD. If so, whether they were HD or standard before, they are SD now. Is that what happened?
If a file (including HD video) was copied to a DVD disk (as in a DVD-ROM not DVD video format), it could be anything.
As John suggests, either way, you may be putting the video into a sequence that does not match, and it may appear "cropped" when it isn't.

3. Re: import from DVD to premiere crop issues
Peferling Nov 22, 2014 2:10 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Without knowing the details, I assumed by cropped you means it's 16:9 and you've most likely placed it onto a 4:3 sequence (or vice versa)? Try this. Right click on the video in the Bin and choose "create sequence from clip" PPro will create a sequence based on the video's specs. Does it look correct now?

4. Re: import from DVD to premiere crop issues
BethMintzer Nov 24, 2014 1:35 PM (in response to Peferling)There is no option that says 'create sequence from clip', I have Premiere CC, is that way it's not there? Also, it's cropped when in the bin, not just the sequence. Thanks for the help.

Ann Bens Nov 24, 2014 1:43 PM (in response to BethMintzer)Does the dimension say 540x480 by any chance?
If so then I think its a bug.
You could convert the mpg to dv avi before importing.
On a side note: There is an option: New sequence from clip when you right click on the clip in the Project Window but if the clip is 540x480 there is not point in doing that.
