christinawazzid Nov 25, 2014 11:42 AM (in response to sy99)Vosteran is a browser hijacker virus that can be distributed via bundling. Thus, next time you get such message telling you to update your browser, you should be careful and to confirm whether it is reliable. Many users like you who don't pay enough attention are infected by Vosteran redirect virus, too. To remove this annoying redirect virus, you should delete its extensions, and files. Go to the registry and delete its malicious keys. You can see how other victims remove this malware here: [link to infected site removed]

sy99 Nov 24, 2014 12:54 AM (in response to christinawazzid)Thank´s, I`ve got rid of it, no problem. What I wanted to know is whether it is known that such fake update messages are on the way.

Jeromie Clark Nov 24, 2014 12:34 PM (in response to sy99)Flash Player is installed on 1.2 billion computers. It's a popular choice for attackers when they want to trick someone into downloading fake software.
Always download software directly from the vendor. For Flash Player, if you see an upgrade prompt, then either use the Update button in Control Panel > Flash Player > Advanced, or go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to ensure that the files you're downloading are legitimate.
