Download Flashplayer Update and it doesn't appear in Applications folder on my iMac

I downloaded the Adobe Flashplayer Update, Adobe Flashplayer still does not appear in my Applications folder.  When selecting content that needs Flashplayer, I am receiving a message that says I need to download it.  I don't know what's going on.

You write that you "download" the update, but did you also install it?

Also, since Flash Player is just a browser add-on, I don't think it should appear in the Applications folder.
