1. Re: How do i mask a video to use as a video banner
Stefan Gruenwedel Nov 23, 2014 10:11 AM (in response to michaelfranklinr05096)Please elaborate on what you want to do on the website. By "mask the video" where you want it, do you mean simply place the video on the web page? Also, is the video being hosted somewhere already (like on YouTube), and is some form of the website available for public viewing now?

adobedtime Nov 28, 2014 9:18 AM (in response to Stefan Gruenwedel)I have a video i took with my phone.i would like to cut out a banner sized part of the video to run as a banner.so horizontally speaking a rectangular (banner size) out of the middle region.the piece i need cut would span the whole width of the video.i just need the top and bottom removed.the important part of the video will play out.so , is there a way fro premiere to get rid of that top and bottom useing effects?or am i totally on a wrong track here for making this effect happen.i just want to take a video and cut the top and bottom off so it matches banner dimensions, then play ythe cut part upon arriving at the page.

Stefan Gruenwedel Nov 29, 2014 11:07 PM (in response to adobedtime)Edit the movie in Premiere Pro and don't worry about the top and bottom portion that you want to remove; you can do that later on export. Once your movie is edited as you wish (cuts made, effects added, music adjusted, etc.), select File > Export > Media. This loads Adobe Media Encoder, where you can output to a variety of formats and also crop your movie. This YouTube video describes briefly how to do it: Crop & Reframe Images in Adobe Media Encoder CC. You may also find this Export settings reference of help. Hope this works for you!

dummergold Nov 30, 2014 10:22 AM (in response to adobedtime)I imagine Stephan's method will get you to where you need to be, and i add also that you can add the 'crop' effect to your video, which will give you key frame control of your crop area over time as well as feathering
