MomoSpectator Aug 27, 2013 4:53 AM (in response to Saurabh.Agrawal)Thank you with the brush issue. Apparently the whole toolbar wasn't showing which is why I couldn't find it.
Regarding the patch, though, I have installed the latest patch and I've still been getting the issue. Getting this thing to work is top priority for me, as it need it to do my graduation project for school. I can make it so that it draws without creating a different shape and without straightening the lines (MOST of the time) however it still 'corrects my lines so that they are smoother and even when I turn smoothing down it still appears to look corrected by the program. Also, I have to draw EXTREMELY slow on my tablet to get it not to straighten my lines and I also have NO pressure to be founds from my tablet either, so it's very hard to draw like I want to.

Which drawing tool are you using? Brush tool or pencil tool? Have you enabled the "Brush pressure" option from the toolbar?
Updating to the latest version of Flash CC should resolve the auto-straightening issue, However, one of the users has reported that it does not get fixed until the "Use Windows Ink" option is switched off from the Wacom Control Panel. Please read the older posts in this thread for more details.

FuzzyDrawings Aug 27, 2013 7:24 AM (in response to MomoSpectator)Based on your description, I wonder what Drawing settings you have turned on...there is more than just the Smooth settings that shows up in your Properties window.
If you haven't already, go to your Preferences and click into the Drawing portion on the left hand menu. Here, you'll see various options with drop down menus including one that mentions "Recognizing Shapes". Set this to Normal or Off and see if that and/or other settings adjustments improves your situation.
On a side note, I posted (quite sternly, possibly; though it was more out of exasperation) here about this issue last month, so I feel it's only fair to give an update: the patch has worked well for me. I've tested it with various settings both in Flash and Wacom's preferences and I haven't had any issues. Thank you Adobe.
Curiously, having the "Windows Link" turned on in Wacom's settings hasn't caused an issue on my end. What driver version are people using when this occurs?

MomoSpectator Aug 28, 2013 9:35 PM (in response to Saurabh.Agrawal)I've tried adjusting my settings and I also cannot find the "Use Windows Ink" box ANYWHERE on any of the preferences sections for my Bamboo Pen and Touch. Even after adjusting my settings and reinstalling my drivers for my tablet, It still responds VERY slowly and I can't even draw the lag is so terrible. Either it just makes straight lines when I'm trying to quickly sketch a drawing or it doesn't even recognize any of what I've drawn and just leaves a little sqiggle. I have the latest version of Flash and I've been using the brush tool. I turned the pressure sensitivity on, so it uses that now, however it still is very slow when drawing.

Saurabh.Agrawal Aug 28, 2013 9:56 PM (in response to MomoSpectator)The "Use Windows Ink" option was added by Wacom in driver version 6.3.6-w3. I'm not sure when that option will be available for the Bamboo series of Wacom tablets. Which driver version are you using? Did you face similar problems with Flash CS6?
Is any other user with a Bamboo series tablet facing similar lag issues even after updating Flash?

MomoSpectator Aug 29, 2013 4:39 AM (in response to Saurabh.Agrawal)As far as I know I'm updated to the latest drivers for my tablet since I just reinstalled all the basic drivers and my bamboo dock made me update the drivers two more times before I could get it to work. I don't have Flash CS6, so I wouldn't know if the same problem would happen.

TheIronGiant Sep 14, 2013 12:34 AM (in response to Saurabh.Agrawal)Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Pentium 4 3.4GHz
8BG Ram
Bamboo Capture tablet
Flash Ver: 13.0.1.808
I thought I would give this version of Flash a trial. It seems like most are having lots of difficulty with it so far unfortunately. I am seeing the same laggy drawing errors with the pen and brush tools that everyone else on here are discussing. Another interesting note that I noticed though was the lag wasn't only present with the drawing tools. The lag was also apparent when I would drag any of the windows around the screen. The main application window itself moves around the screen just fine, but as soon as you drag a window around such as the color panel, properties panel, even a test movie swf window, the lag is there. It's like a terrible refresh rate. Almost like what you would see before you install the proper driver for a video card. It's just not as snappy as older versions of Flash which is quite shocking seeing as the other versions are only 32-bit and this new one is 64-bit. I know it's not perfect yet, and everyone on the Flash Pro team at Adobe is hard at work to fix this problem. I just wanted to shed some light on this with my experience and see if there is something there more than just the wacom drivers.

91. Re: Flash CC - Drawing Tablets slow response
MrGhostMachine Sep 24, 2013 1:38 PM (in response to SujaiS)I've installed the latest drivers for my Wacom Intuos5 tablet, installed the update for Flash CC (yes, i'm sure it's installed. It says 13.0.1.808 in "about") and the issue is still present. There's still a lag and it doesn't respond to my Intuos5 when i'm drawing. It's not even that fast, just a normal stroke. I know it isn't my tablet's fault, because it works perfectly when i'm using Photoshop or any other drawing program. It's only flash that doesn't seem to perfectly recognize my strokes or read them in time I guess (i.e. : when drawing a circle, it's never a round circle like when it is in photoshop, I get these straight lines and/or sharp corners). This isn't only in circles it's about any stroke that involves bending.
Reading through this discussion, it seems to me like the issues was solved after the update, but only for Cintiq users? there are still many people who can't use Flash CC properly, which is a shame because it seems great. I guess i'll have to use CS6 again...don't know if it's for Intuos/Bamboo/other graphic tablet users only, but it seems that way since only most Cintiq users have their problems solved
Please keep looking into this problem and try to solve this as soon as possible, it may be solved for many but it's still present for some and it's really meddling with out workflow. Especially if all the lines you make are jaggy or not even what you want it to be. Thank you.

MrGhostMachine Sep 26, 2013 6:44 AM (in response to Sangeeta J Yelamali)Details:
-Windows 8, new Samsung laptop 8gb RAM and 750 gb hard drive, Intel Core i5, 2,60Ghz, Intel HD Graphics 4000, 15’6 inch, 64-bit version.
-Intuos5 version 6.3.6w3, btw issue is still there whether Window Ink is checked or not.
-Tablet setting to standard, but even when sensitivity is put on soft it occurs so it’s not my tablet that isn’t working properly. Also every other drawing program still runs perfectly and recognize all my movements perfectly.
-using the mouse instead of the tablet doesn’t really make any difference, and I can make decent figures with my mouse. Still all jaggy.
-changing the smoothing doesn’t really help
-Problem occurs with brush tool (and also pencil even when put on smooth or ink). If I go anything above "patiently" drawing bended lines, I get these unwanted straight lines and sharp corners. Like it's lagging or not recognizing my movements properly.
-don’t have a video, but I do have a legit screenshot. Hope that helps. If it really is necessary I’ll post a video if I can, but I’m very busy now can’t do much more. Dutch version btwoh and don't mind the open programs, even when it's the only app that's open, it stay the same

here’s a forum thread about another guy with just about the same issues as me http://forums.deletionquality.net/showthread.php/13682-Some-Reasons-you-shouldn-t-Update-t o-Flash-CC
Seems to me like it’s an issue with the performance/framerate of the new Adobe Flash, just like TheIronGiant showed us. I hope you guys can up the quality of the new flash version. -
94. Re: Flash CC - Drawing Tablets slow response
TheIronGiant Oct 4, 2013 9:22 PM (in response to MrGhostMachine)Well I would like to post another finding with the performance of Flash Pro CC. There is a noticeable performance increase when you open up one of the menu items from the top menu bar. I can really see this because I am testing on an older Pentium4 machine. The FrameRateTestPanel I created is usually showing an average of 20 fps on my machine. As soon as I hit a menu item, for example clicking on "File", the dropdown list appears and the performance on the FrameRateTestPanel jumps to a full 60 fps. I also did this with Windows Task Manager open to the "Performance" tab. With only Flash running, I am averaging about 30% CPU Usage, but as soon as I hit "File" in Flash, the CPU Usage drops to an average of 11%. This is quite a substantial performance gain in my mind and one that leads me to believe there are some optimizations that have yet to be done to Flash Professional CC.
Again, I would like to reiterate that I am not trying to pick on Flash or Adobe for that matter because they make amazing products. As someone who has worked in the television animation and gaming industry, I have been using Flash since it was Macromedia Flash 4, and I would like to continue using this tool for work going forward. I will just have to wait until this next version has a few more bugs ironed out.

robosnacks Oct 9, 2013 12:50 PM (in response to MrGhostMachine)Anyone else know how to get Flash to have the same responsiveness as ToonBoom or...any other vector tool out there? It twerks my lines after I draw them so they're these weird 'shelbyville' version of the line I drew. It'd be nice if what I drew stayed what I drew. Tried every possible smoothing setting and combo I can think of over the years and with every version the same problem persists • http://i.imgur.com/UEQ3s9P.jpg • http://forums.adobe.com/thread/782379
Below is a vector brush tool Disney Feature Animation is using/developing. Wish Adobe Flash could hit this level of professional standard with their Brush tool. It hasn't really been changed much since Macromedia MX version. Be great if they could not only hit the same accuracy as toonboom, but bypass it entirely and get to this:

Everything else in Flash is so great but it seriously inhibits the promise of Flash's efficient workflow to have the brush not up to snuff. Doesn't really help to have a faster car if the steering wheel keeps falling off.

FlashIllustrator Oct 10, 2013 3:58 PM (in response to robosnacks)robosnacks,
I have wished for Adobe to update the drawing tools in Flash since they picked it up from Macromedia. You can always tell when something has been drawn in Flash with the available drawing tools because they unfortunately have the awkward smoothing algorithm applied to the brush strokes. You have to do a lot of cleanup work to the strokes to achieve the line quality you are after. My recommendation would be to use Illustrator if you have the opportunity to do so. You are able to achieve a really appealing line, and a more optimized one for that matter. The number of points in a curve brought in to Flash from Illustrator is significantly less than if you tried drawing the same line in Flash and applied some clean up and smoothing. I bring up that point in case you are worried about performance/load times in the flash player for any reason.
If you are creating animations in a TV pipeline type of situation and require the end result to be in Flash, I would look into picking up a copy of Toon Boom Studio on sale and then imoprting the animation into the Flash timeline. I did this for a contract and it greatly increased my quality and quantity.
I have a suspicion that Adobe is working on the drawing tools because I saw a presentation by Tom Barclay where he talked a bit about the future of Flash and where it is going. In this presentation they showed a screen shot of a potential upgrade to the stroke that would accomodate variable width. To me it looks very similar to the tools in Illustrator, but that is just the artist side of me hoping that Flash will finally one day get a drawing tool overhaul with some solid tools. Here is a link if you are interested in checking it out: http://www.andrewdollanimation.com/blog/2013/5/15/future-of-flash-professional.html
I hope I was able to help out. I know I didn't fix your issue by any means, but it's been my experience with Flash and it's drawing tools especially that you have to mix in other applications to get the right look that you are after.

I have the same issue here as the majority of everyone else.
Using pressure with the brush tool in Adobe Flash CC causes lag that is so bad, I cannot draw correctly.
Also, I have the straight line at the beginning of the stroke problem as well.
I am completed updated on drivers as well the current version of Flash CC. I have followed all the prompts to no avail on this site. I need assistance in solving this problem.

106. Re: Flash CC - Drawing Tablets slow response
jpi Apr 25, 2014 10:41 AM (in response to Sangeeta J Yelamali)I'm an animation instructor and we're having this issue with Flash CC on campus... I've tried the fixes suggested here, Flash is up to date; I tried the steps listed here: http://shanemarksanimation.wordpress.com/2011/01/27/fixing-pen-tablet-stroke-lag-in-photos hop-or-other-apps-in-windows-7/ and that actually worked but only for a few moments--Flash would be drawing beautifully but within a minute it would degenerate back into the extremely laggy and choppy drawing. Furthermore, it's not just tablets/cintiqs, even drawing with the regular mouse is laggy.
If we can't get this fixed I can't recommend my students keep using Flash, we would be forced to leave it behind. If there is any new information on how to fix this issue please let me know as soon as possible, thank you.

107. Re: Flash CC - Drawing Tablets slow response
robosnacks Apr 25, 2014 11:18 AM (in response to jpi)If you can upgrade to a 64 bit machine it helps, but still not ideal. I bought the brand new Mac Pro (Darth Vader Magic Bullet), and it's a mean machine with everything else. Even Flash has been better but still not up to snuff with other apps. It shouldn't take THAT much power just to get your brushes to draw properly (or almost properly at best in the case of Flash).
I'm finally accepting the cold shoulder from Adobe and now beginning the migration to ToonBoom after using Flash since version 1. It's clear they only care about coded content, not visual content creators unless you're drawing horribly out-dated webcomic looking crud. The new brushes in ToonBoom Animate 3 kick the snot out of Flash which hasn't made any significant upgrades since Macromedia owned it. If this was 1999, I could see calling Flash "Professional" but Vector brush tools have come a long way and Flash is about 10-20 years behind with no sign that they plan to change it or even care beyond a souless form letter at best.
Cue up to 07:10
https://www.toonboom.com/resources/video-tutorials/video/sketching-using-the-brush-tool
New ToonBoom brush is not only accurate, it lets you both soften edges, as well as add a 'texture' ala photoshop to the brush.
https://www.toonboom.com/sites/default/files/userfiles/images/tip_and_trick/body-hf02.png
Flash needs to get their own tools up to at least this level or ideally the level of 'Meander' the vector drawing tool used in Disney's Paperman, invented by Brian Whited.
Leaving the Flash wasteland for greener pastures. Some new app needs to do to Flash, what Final Cut Pro did to Avid and Premiere. The concept of Flash was brilliant and is still poised to be the tool of choice for all artists IF they would actually develop the tools that make it usable. The days of using 2 or 3 programs to do things is over. Flash could be a one stop shop for animation and games/interactivity IF Adobe would put in the effort to get the content tools up to snuff. The actual interface of Flash is genius, but the tools make it unusable. Like having a top performing race car with a steering wheel made of melting jelly. What good is the car if you can't drive it?

frafor521 Jul 1, 2014 9:36 AM (in response to atomicrainbow)ok guys i have the solution!
The problem is concerning video driver.
You have to uninstall and restore the original driver of your computer (Vaio,Hp ecc..)
Download the original driver from the producer's web site (poducer of your computer not of the video board)
Also it's important to disable automatic driver update (for example windows do it as default)I hope this make sense for you ... because this problem was very irritating for me and i wanted to help
In conclusion video driver is the matter!!!! -
109. Re: Flash CC - Drawing Tablets slow response
travisbrainerd Aug 25, 2014 9:11 PM (in response to Circuitos)I posted a video above of drawing on my Cintiq 12WX using a Mac. As you can see, there is a simplifying of the path that occurs even while the path is being drawn (small geometric lines)-- when the stylus is lifted from the tablet, then the line distorts/simplifies even more. There is also always a small space between the cursor and where the line starts to appear. This behavior does NOT occur with Flash CS5.5 on my setup. Just as @Circuitos compared the two versions above, CC ruins your drawing and CS5.5 accurately keeps the line-- during & after the stroke's creation.
Even with Smoothing set to "0" or the Pencil tool set to "Ink" mode, which should have the least interference from Flash, the behavior is virtually the same.
It's absolutely necessary to get this drawing behavior working as it was before. I can't downgrade to CS5.5 at this point for studio or personal projects.
