downloading adobe flashback player

When i try to play a you tube my screen is black and it says to download Adobe Flashback player.  I did the download, step 1, step2 asks for me to purchase something but I can't continue to step 3 unless i do. I have an Mac OS X 10.6.8, use Safari as my browser version 5.1.10. Help!!

Try the offline installer:

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

If that doesn't work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall Flash Player:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

Then just re-run the installer you downloaded earlier.
