Installer unresponsive

I am attempting to install adobe flash on my system and when I run the program, it comes up with the install window but then just hangs there with a grey window with no print.  When I attempt to close the window due to none activity it attempts to load the following page.

http://www.{completionpageurl}.com/?exitcode=-1

I have gone through the help section and tried installing after removing flash from my system and had the same result.
