Windows 8.1, Firefox 34.0, Flash 16.0.0.235

The problem:

After the (no errors) install process, the plugin is not downloaded. Firefox looks for an addon with a '.jar' or  'xpi' file suffix for the manual plugin install. The download directory does NOT contain a file with either suffix / file type.The install reports no errors. Below I will show a screenshot of the install directory contents so you can see that there is no '.jar' or '.xpi' file in the download directory.

Background:

I am trying to get the flash manual plugin install to work with firefox. The plugin finder and install service with firefox does not find the plugin so I use the manual option.

I went to the adobe download page and followed the normal process to download and install the plugin. The plugin installs here;

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MacroMed\Flash

This directory has a log file. I paste it below.

I fixed it.

Firefox needed to be reset. Then it could see the plugin.

No joy. No help here either. Is there a way to get a support person?

I got actual help over at the mozilla forums. This is what I tried:

Disabling Kaspersky.

Disabling all FF addons.

Disabling Malwarebytes.

Uninstalling flash first and deleting all flash directories.

Anyway. PLEASE IS THERE A SUPPORT PERSON AVAILABLE?

Thanks,
