None of my Flash updates were successful, so I proceeded to uninstall my Adobe Flash Player as suggested by the website. Now, I cannot redownload the program. I have tried every bit of trouble shooting. I have even taken my macbook to a specialist. I am at a loss as to what the next step it, but I am really suffering without my Flash Player! Does anyone have any ideas? I am running version 10.10.1 OS X Yosemite.

hello,

Please provide specific details on what's happening when you try to download/install Flash Player.  Screenshots are also very beneficial.

Hi msmardee1,

not accepting the password is not the same issue as this thread.

The password being requested is your machine's password.  The password you use to log onto your machine.  If you're user account is an Administrator, it's this password.  If you're user account is not an Administrator, you'll need to provide an Administrator password.  If your machine has no password, ignore the field and click 'OK' to continue.

I am having the same issue.  When you click the installer icon the Installer screen appears however is entirely black.  I also have Yosemite!

Hello Mark,

You're issue is also not the same issue as the original poster.  Please try using the full/offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page.

Thank you.

Maria-

I respectively disagree that my issue is not at leasts related to the original post. I have attempted multiple times to update Adobe Flash Player. None of my Flash updates were successful, so I proceeded to uninstall my Adobe Flash Player as suggested by the website. I am running version 10.10.1 OS X Yosemite. I am able to re-download the FlashPlayer, unlike AllyLynn, however when I attempt to run the program I get the "Adobe Flash Player window to open however it is entirely black (and has no buttons to click to run). Just as I did prior to the uninstall. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi Mark,

You're original comment only referred to a blank screen.  Had you posted the additional information, contained in your second post, I would not have said "you're issue is not the same".  Did you try downloading the full installer I linked to?  Our experience is that the blank window is from the shim/stub installer (file size about 1.2 MB), not the full installer (file size about 15 MB)?

This occurs each and every time that I attempt to download the program back onto my laptop. Any ideas? I've emptied my trash, my downloads, my library, my caches. I don't know what else to try, but I desperately need this program back on my Mac.

Hi AllyLynn,

Please provide the FlashPlayerInstallManager.log file.  It's located at ~/Library/Logs (this is the user's Library log file). Easy way to find it is to use the Console app (/Applications/Utilities/Console) and then searching for the file in the left column.  The file will be fairly large, as such, you can post it using the instructions here, How to share a document.

Maria,

I opened the applications and used the console, on the left I see ~Library/Logs, but when I click on it nothing loads.

I'm experiencing the same thing on OS-X 10.9.5 Mavericks. Might be caused by OS-X playing it safe and get.adobe.com using an invalid security certificate for HTTPS. The get.adobe.com SSL certificate is only valid for some of their other sites: www.adobetag.com, demand.assets.adobe.com, ak-www.stage.acrobat.com, etc.

Interesting.  This is how mine started.  Months ago when first notified of the update, I tried to download and got much the same problems as AllyLynn.  I just gave up.  Then Firefox started the warnings and I re-tried.  Now instead of getting the black screen with the download bar-- It is just black.

I tried the full install from the 14.9 mb file.  Same issue.  Then I rebooted and tried to do it again...same problem!
