Adobe Installation Helper Stopped

Hi - I am having trouble trying to install the recent version of Adobe Flash player.  I download the initial file and then try to run it.  I then get the error "Adobe Installation Helper has stopped running".  I know there is a place for archived versions of Flash but this recent version isn't there yet.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Please try using the full installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page, in the 'Still need help' section.

What OS version do you have?  Is this the shim/stub installer (about 1.2 MB in size) or the full/offline installer (about 17 MB in size)?

Thank you for your reply.  I'm using Windows 7.  I'm using the installer that is about 1.2 mb and is supposed to then download the full program.  Thanks.
