Cannot Update to new Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.296

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer does NOT update on my computer. Tried that website several hundred times since November 2014.

Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.296 update for Firefox and Internet Explorer will not install.

install_flashplayer16x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe file downloads fine and goes to run, then I get a blank "Adobe Flash Player Installer" screen that won't close and nothing updates.

Can't install the Adobe Reader update either.

Any browser setting issues possibly, or other, etc, suggestions that might solve this problem?

Thanks for any help.

Hello,

For Flash Player, please try using the offline installers posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page, in the 'Still having problems' section.  There are three installers and you'll want the installers for the various browsers you use.

If this doesn't work, please provide the contents of the \Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall.log file.  If you have a 64-bit OS, also provide the contents of the \Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall.log f

For installation issues with Reader, please post to the Reader forum, Adobe Reader.

Thank you for your help. I was able to get the Firefox Adobe update from the Still Having Problems section. The IE Adobe Flash file ran and loaded without incident. The "Firefox" Adobe Flash Player standard install_flashplayer16x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe file is what does not run. It opens a blank Adobe screen and locks up.

Hi Phil,

You're welcome.  I'm glad that worked for you.  We are aware of the 'blank screen' when using the online installer and are working to resolve the issue.

Hi Maria,

I am unable to install Adobe Reader. The file: install_reader11_en_mssd_aih.exe provides a link that locks up and does not install.

Do you know of another location to find an install that will load? Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Phil
