The problem as I have it is that when I try to import either from the compact flash card into a new directory on the network share drives or simply add the images from the existing shared folders, the destination does not display the network shared drive letters and won't let me add them. The really strange thing is that when looking at the top of the import dialog; it will allow me to "send" the images to the networked drive and create a sub-folder. Of course when I actually begin the import; the process goes at a snails pace and just when I think everything will be imported or stored in its proper network destination folder; lightroom gives an error and tells me that none of the files were imported.
There's no "send" in the Import dialog, so your statement that "it will allow me to 'send' the images" is meaningless. Could you please explain further?
Also, could you quote the exact complete word-for-word error message verbatim?
If it's Mac, and the error message relates to files not being read, it's actually likely to be a write permissions issue on the destination folder. Fix that.
Thanks for your reply. The OS is Windows 8.1. I have reviewed the write permissions in the network drive and they are read/write enabled. Any other suggestions please? Thank you!
Thank you for your reply!
The "Send to" I'm referring to is the "TO" field in the import window. It allows me to select the network drive and opens the explorer window for me to select a directory. Please notice in the Destination area that the network drive link is not present.
The error message received after trying to copy to this destination is:
This is a screen capture of the Windows explorer showing the networked share links.
I'm hoping its a setting or something that I'm not doing properly to create this problem. I've traced the networking share policies and rights in windows, ran network troubleshooters from Windows 8.1 and there were some "Home Group" issues it fixed, I've ran a malware removal and I have Norton 360 internet suite installed where I've also checked the firewall settings and they appear to be allowing the shared drive access. Lightroom is the only program that will not recognize or display the Network File Share access links. Sure could use your expertise! Thanks so much for the assistance!
