I have authorized my compter using ADE and can download books but cannot transfer them to my Sony Reader because it does not accept my Adobe ID to authorize transfer to the Reader.

I have authorized my compter using ADE and can download books but cannot transfer them to my Sony Reader because it does not accept my Adobe ID to authorize transfer to the Reader. The Reader was previously used with Sony Reader Library but since the Sony Store closed the Sony ID is ocsolete. The Tech people from my local library tried for two hours to resolve the problem without success They think that perhaps the old sony password may be imbebbed in the reader and is conflicting with the Adobe password. Any suggestions???
