trying to install flash player,I can download the installer but when I run it I get a blank screen and cant x out of it later

I am running Win 7 on a refurbished PC. I have done a systems restore. I can download the installer but after the "blue screw" it won't install. It won't let me close the window either. I have tried in IE and Firefox.

Do a clean install
