I cannot install Adobe Flash Player. I have windows 7 64bit and firefox browser. During install i get a message 'lost connection', followed by 'trying to reconnect', and then connection failed

I have done all of that, and successfully downloaded the installer.  however, after I run the installer there are no files, no visual notification under 'Start' as usual, and after the install, if I search, no Adobe flash anywhere.
