Can't unauthorize Adobe Digital Editions

When I try to download a book I get the "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY" message.  So I try to erase the authorization as I see instructed, but it keeps telling me my password is wrong.  I've verified the password repeatedly.  I signed in here with that password.

you can try the following steps:


Mac OS

  1. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
  2. Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.
Windows
  1. Choose Start > Run.
  2. In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.
  3. In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:
  4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept
  5. Select the Adept key.
  6. Choose File > Export.

Thank you agnivadebnath; I've tried that.  I open Digital Editions, press Command+Shift+D, and a window pops up with an authorization number or something and two blank fields for me to enter my Adobe ID and password.  I do this and it tells me my password is incorrect.  I only have one Adobe ID, and I know the password is correct.
