Is there no more Adobe Flash Player?

After a  system recovery I re-downloaded Firefox and can't stream videos.  Youtube works ok, but can't stream videos on another site I usually go to.   Chrome streams fine. In checking on the plugins for Firefox, there is no flashplayer available.  I tried to download flashplayer from the adobe website and although it downloads and installs, it doesn't show up on the screen after.  It shows up in the control panel, but there is no amount of MBs at the end of the entry.  It also does not show up on my desktop.  What gives, anyone know?

My OS is Windows Vista Home premium, I downloaded the latest version of Firefox 36.0.4. You might want to try downloading from the following Adobe website. Go down to the bottom where it says, "Still having problems?".

Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows

If that does not work you might want to post on the forum during the week when Adobe staff supplies answers.
