Tried importing .xpj file from RoboHelp 10 into RoboHelp 11.  TOC, Index and Glossary imported but not showing anything under Project Files (the main topics).  What is missing?  I thought importing the .xpj file contained everything RoboHelp needed to replicate the project.

Is your RH11 all patched up? There were some reported issues last year about upgrading some projects. If you are completely up to date (I think 11.0.4.291 is current right now), try opening the RH10 project again using the .hhp file (that’s an approach Peter Grainge has advocated). BTW – the project isn’t on a network drive is it? If so, move it all local first, upgrade it, and then put it back on the network.

I think you would need to import the project files as well.  According to this blog post: Understanding the RoboHelp project files: XPJ and FPJ « TechComm Central by Adobe, the XPJ file the main launch file.

Wait, so you are not trying to open the RH 10 project from RH11?  Just importing the .XPJ file from RH10 into RH11?

Some background... one office just purchased RH11 and one office has had RH10 for a while. The project was compiled in RH10 and needed to be imported so the office with RH11 could 'continue developing'.  We re-imported and it seems to be working now.  Thanks for all of your responses!

“Importing” is kind of misleading – you are really referring to “upgrading” your project

Unless, of course, they truly are meaning that they somehow thought they really needed to "import".

It's quite amazing to see how so many folks think there is some esoteric approach to "upgrading" a project and it simply cannot be as simple as just choosing to open the XPJ and let RoboHelp do it's thing.

Cheers... Rick
