For this problem, you need to deauthorize and authorize ADE again.

Launch ADE

Help -> Erase authorization.

ADE will be deauhorized.

Now again AUTHORIZE ADE

Help-> authorize computer.

Error will be fixed !!

That is the problem indeed! When I tried to deauthorize, it didnt work. So, I cannot deauthorize and ID remains although I uninstalled the program.

If due to some reason, you are unable to deauthorize ADE, follow the below steps:

Note: Try these steps only if you remember the password so that you can authorize ADE again

1.Go-> Go to folder.

Go to folder dialog will appear.

2. Type   ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions

drag the activation.dat file to the trash.


ADE will be deauthorized now.

Now Authorize ADE again.

yes you can always reset your password, if you have access to the email.

So, step are:

1. First you de-auhorize ADE with steps mentioned in my previous post

2. Now authorize ADE as:Help-> authorize computer.

first try with your existing password.

if you get the error as incorrect password,then you can reset your passsword.

I'm having the same issue and uninstalling and reinstalling doesnt solve it. Always appear the ID but i cannot take it off
