Working on a MAC with a Kobo.  ADE won't let me read DRM books - 4.0 crashes when opening library books (EVERY. SINGLE. It is a crash error code.

In the mean time, you can open the book in ADE 3.0.

Activation error can be fixed by following steps:

• Open Adobe Digital Editions.
• Press Control+Shift+D to deauthorize Adobe Digital Editions.
• Select Erase Authorization.

  Click OK and Quit Adobe Digital Editions.
• Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize (Help-> Authorize Computer)

The problem is: I can't open ADE, it crashes at once!

it happened once again, and I remember, there must be a file somwehere, which I have to delete, but I don't remember which one.

When you try to relaunch ADE after crash, it tries open in the previous state before crash and it will end up in crashing again.

Please try the below steps.

• Take backup of the My Digital Editions folder under "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents" and delete it.
• Relaunch ADE and verify whether the issue is still reproducible
• Manually copy the books from older backup to My Digital Editions folder.

Thank you! This worked. But now I copied my files back, which was successful. But the last file did´t work. I even loaded this file from the bookstore. When I try to load this file, ADE crashes and gives me the following report:

I am having this issue as well, everytime I try to open an ebook using ADE after it runs through the fullfilling download it crashes ADE as well.  what can be done to fix this.

I am having this problem too. Mac OS X 10.9.5. ADE 4.03. I download books from my library and when I try to read them using ADE, the app crashes 100% of the time. Here is the crash report:

I'm having the same issues and have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times I've lost count. And Adobe is terrible for support and assistance. I wouldn't even bother if I had an option in getting library ebooks. If someone figures this out, please let me know. And yes, I've tried the 3.0 version as well and it did not work. This is highly frustrating and I wish we had other options.
