Flash player download: Adobe download manager is blank

Hi everyone,

I'm running in circles here trying to find a solution - not getting anywhere...

I'm trying to update my Flash Player PPAPI for Opera on Windows 7 sp1

When I download the installer and the Adobe Download Manager opens, it shows nothing and is blank, nothing happens.

Here a screen shot:

I have tried uninstalling Flash Player, but the same thing happens when reinstalling.

JavaScript is active, I've checked that. Any other solutions I have googled don't apply.

To accurately identify the issue, and help us improve the online installer experience, we would really appreciate it if you could do the following for us:

  1. Perform a speed test on your internet connection.  There are a myriad of sites that do this, for example, www.speedtest.net, www.speakeasy.net/speedtest, www.dslreports.com/speedtest, and your internet provider may also have a page in their support/help section to do a speedtest.
  2. Create an empty text file in your %TEMP% directory named ADM.trace
    • On Vista and above the TEMP directory is usually located at C:\Users\Your_User_Name\Temp
  3. Run the online installer again and wait for the connection error.  After getting the error, close
  4. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Adobe_ADMLogs directory inside the TEMP directory
  5. Upload the two log files (Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log) using the instructions posted here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1408375
  6. Reply back to this thread with the results of the download speed test and the URL to the uploaded log files.

In the mean time, the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page in the 'Still having problems' section should work for you.

It is my speedtest : Speedtest.net by Ookla - My Results
This was taken via Google Chrome on a Win7 machine and we select to save locally and then run from the download directory.

I created the logs as requested and looked at the file Adobe_ADM.log and it's obvious at least to me where the issue lays.  Here are a couple of lines from that log:

[UPDATE - SOLUTION!]

I navigated to the help site, and downloaded the Flash Player for Firefox - NPAPI

And it worked! *Use the uninstaller first to clear all installations!

However, I STILL can't install adobe reader. 😕

Hi.

I have the exact same problem, and have searched the net for solutions.. But came up short.

There are NO support for this anywhere, and it's quite dissapointing.

Note. Same problem with Adobe Reader: Manager just goes blank and opens IE instead of firefox.

Please advise... I have no flash now.

I am having the EXACT same problem.The download manager goes blank and that is as far as it goes.This never used to be the case.What download speeds have to do with the problem is beyond me.I have used the same server for years and nothing has changed speed wise.Yet until recently Abobe installation worked fine.And now it does not.Something is definitely rotten in Adobe land...but what?
