1. Re: Autumn 2007 Theme Drive through Sept 14
nbrown2 Aug 28, 2007 10:34 AM (in response to Sami@Adobe)Thanks for the point of inspiration Adobe. Not only is it a great competition idea, but it really spurs creativity. Great idea with using the tag, autumn07, to group all of the themes together. That ability has been very useful in the past for myself and I'm sure others. Just another aspect of the built in flexibility of Kuler! -

4. Re: Autumn 2007 Theme Drive through Sept 14
Sami@Adobe Sep 21, 2007 12:13 PM (in response to baggypud)Hello, the theme drive ended Friday, September 14. We'll post the selected t-shirt themes and creators. Details
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the drive! It seems like it was a successful experiment, one worth possibly doing again. We are open to suggestions for improving the process, and/or for another community activity!

Srta._Pinta Sep 29, 2007 8:10 AM (in response to Sami@Adobe)Yikes my post disappeared (by the way, this forum has been acting loopy lately, seems normal today though)...
I had suggested another one for Christmas, or rather the holidays (since I am sure not everyone celebrates Christmas).
Either for the Adobe Holiday card or just the color themes to be used. Holiday Cheer... -
6. Re: Autumn 2007 Theme Drive through Sept 14
angeal Oct 13, 2007 10:20 PM (in response to Sami@Adobe)Hiya Sami, I can think of a couple of ways to kick start folks...
-Themes by abstract concept...peace, joy, despair, dynamic, youthful, power; really you could just open a dictionary and pick a word at random.
-Themes where the first color is given...everybody starts with a specific announced color and adds the next four that they think "goes with" it.
-Themes that go with a story, create a fictious persona and then ask people to create a color scheme for this person's, dunno, bedroom or dining room.
-Themes to match a song, be good if the song is available online somewhere for folks who might not know it to listen to.
-Themes based on contributor's favourite piece of art, they should identify the work in the keywords..."Monet Waterlilies" or whatever.
-Themes that reflect a place, I've done a couple of these, Grand Teton, Moab, Wasatch Mountain. Have people pick their favourite place and create a theme that describes it.
You could do stuff other than T-shirts with the theme printed on them for prizes, mousepads would be cool. One of the online photo printers does playing cards, you can get stuff printed on the backs, magnet, coasters, etc. -

CBukley Nov 6, 2007 10:05 AM (in response to Sami@Adobe)Hi Sami,
Per the theme drive details, featured themes were to be selected within 30 days of the Sept. 14th theme drive end date and announced here in the forum. It's been almost twice that with no info on the selected themes.
So...who were the lucky winners? Inquiring minds want to know.... :)

9. Re: Autumn 2007 Theme Drive through Sept 14
Sami@Adobe Nov 6, 2007 4:44 PM (in response to Sami@Adobe)Hello,
Yes, it's taken a little longer than we initially thought to select the final themes because we needed to see what prints well on the t-shirts, etc. Learning curve on this end... Will be up soon, when we get the last round of proofs back. Thanks for your patience!

Sami@Adobe Dec 3, 2007 5:20 PM (in response to Sami@Adobe)We are waiting for one final proof of a theme printed on a t-shirt to check quality, then we can post the results. Again, I appreciate your patience.

11. Re: Autumn 2007 Theme Drive through Sept 14
Sami@Adobe Dec 17, 2007 10:58 AM (in response to Sami@Adobe)And just in time for the winter holidays, here are the final results from the kuler autumn 2007 theme drive! Many thanks for your patience; proofing color themes printed on black t-shirts took much longer than expected.
Congratulations to the new kuler t-shirt creators and to the other finalists, and thanks to everyone who contributed to the event! This was our first community theme drive, and it looks like people were into the spirit, got creative, and had fun, which was the whole point. We also got some great feedback for future events like this, thanks for that.
Review the selection process here.
Again, thanks to everyone who submitted a theme and helped make this a success. Looking forward to our next event!

baggypud Dec 23, 2007 4:58 PM (in response to Sami@Adobe)The whole thing is a big joke. The themes chosen are not good in any way. There are obvious favorites too - that guy called mathepworth seems to be in the adobe team. Very disappointed with you guys to be honest. -
15. Re: Autumn 2007 Theme Drive through Sept 14
baggypud Dec 23, 2007 5:02 PM (in response to Sami@Adobe)Another obvious favorite - isotope - you people stink. Yuk, i want no more to do with kuler. -

Kristi Taylor Jan 8, 2008 10:46 AM (in response to baggypud)@baggypud
First, neither of those guys won...they were only among finalists (based on downloads & votes) and second, each of them has a vast collection of consistently popular and highly rated themes. It might help your cause to pick on less talented people. -

tomellos Jan 20, 2008 1:39 PM (in response to Sami@Adobe)I agree with baggypud. Themes choosen not are the best. I don't want think that Adobe have favorites, but...
