Urgent help - Issue with Search results in Web help (Robohelp10)

Hi,

I am facing an issue with the Search tab of my Web help output. The search is performed only on a part of the text entered.

For example, I search for a word "Planning", the results are generated for "plan".

I search for the word "Table", the results are generated for "Tabl"

I search for "corresponding", the results for "correspon" are displayed.

Is this an existing issue? Is there any fix for this.

Please help.

Are you using the WebHelp Pro flavour? If so & you aren’t hosting your help on a server using RH Server, you’re wasting your time.

Have you applied all the updates & hotfixes for browser issues? Did you turn on “sub-string” searches in your WebHelp SSL recipe when you generated? Did this just start happening or has it always behaved this way? If you generate one of the sample projects, is it behaving the same way? If you change browsers, is it still happening?

Do you have the same issue if you first uncheck "Show results that include all search words" and then perform your search?

Hi there

This is the option Jeff was referring to. I see it in my own RoboHelp version 10. As we aren't seeing it in your screen capture, I'm wondering if this was an option that was added via a service release you haven't installed.

I do suppose another possibility would be that you are using RoboHelp for Word and perhaps that isn't an option with that application.

Cheers... Rick

And you are using RoboHelp HTML? Or RoboHelp for Word?

If you click Help > About, what version is reported?

One thing I'll suggest.

Did you try using quotes ( i.e., "planning" ) in the search field? Does that work, at least? If so, then a search savvy user will be able to recognize that "plan" is not what they want, and they'll immediately switch to using double-quotes.

Using double quotes works.

Thanks.
