Domain not working

bought a domain on godaddy and linked it to businesscatalyst address, yet when tried to add new domain it says its already taken and won't go any further

Can you please outline the progress. What are you trying to enter into BC's domain settings?

When clicking on 'New domain' / 'Associate New domain' and entering the domain purchased, on clicking save an error message pops up saying the domain already exists and to delete all records associated with the domain before re-adding it.

Please tell me what domain you are entering. Is there a odd top-domin or is it a regular "mycompany.com"?
