Can't install AFP

Hi there,
i tried to download the adobe flash player from the website of adobe, but unfortunately I can't install it completely as the Adobe Download Manager isn't working. I already tried the steps on the supporting website, but when i activate the Shockwave-plugin everything freezes and I can't do anything anymore. I have a Windows 7 system and am using Firefox, which is why i tried to download the version for firefox. I'd appreciate any help a lot.
