Why can I NOT install the up-date "Adobe Flash Player_17au_ta_install.dmg"? I keep getting that Adobe quit unexpectedly.

I just want an answer.  Going to Adobe directly was an exercise in futility

Hi Steve,

Thank you for confirming the OS X version.

The online installer (which you are using) is not supported on OS X 10.6.8. It's not supposed to be offered to users on OS X 10.6.8, but due to a bug it is and we're working to fix the issue.  I'd appreciated it if you could go to http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ and post the User Agent string information for your system.  This will help us in troubleshooting the issue further.

In the mean time, the offline installer is posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the 'Still having problems' section.

Thank you.

Being a computer user, and not an engineer, please advise me as to how to locate the User Agent string information for my system.  Is this what it should, or may, be:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0
