For this problem, you need to deauthorize and authorize ADE again.

Launch ADE

Help -> Erase authorization.

ADE will be deauhorized.

If due to some reason, you are unable to deauthorize ADE, follow the below steps:

Windows:

Choose Start > Run.

In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.

In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept

Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.

In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.

Your authorization will be deleted.

ADE will be deauthorized now.

Now Authorize ADE again. [Help ->Authorize Computer]

Hi Shreya,

I have tried your method, but it is not working.

I clicked on "Erase Authorization", the system prompt a message "ADE 4.0 wants to use your confidential information stored in "Digital Editions"  in your keychain. Do you want to allow access to this item?"   I have tried "Deny" AND "Allow".

Unfortunately, system prompt an error message (in red) : Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try after some time."

Tried many times, not working.

Please advise...preferably a step-by-step instructions as I am a new iMac user.

Thank you.

If due to some reason, you are unable to deauthorize ADE, follow the below steps:

1. Press keyboard shortcut: cmd+shift+g.

Go to folder dialog will appear.

2. Type   ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions

drag the activation.dat file to the trash.

ADE will be deauthorized now.

Now Authorize ADE again [Help -> Authorize Computer].

Hi Shreya,

Your method does not work at all. I opened ADE, then press shortcut: cmd+shift+g, nothing comes out.

Is there other way to do it (I am using iMac OSX Yosemite, Version 10.10.3)

Please advise (preferably a step-by-step instructions).

Thanks.

Regards,

Amanda

Hi Shreya,

I managed to reactivate my ADE Authorization now! Just need to press shortcut: cmd+shift+g on the desktop not on ADE.

Thank you!
