Adobe Flash update will not install. How do I fix this issue.

I received no notice of an update, but when I check on the Adobe site an new update is available.  The update will not install.  My Avast anti virus is off. At stage 2 of 3 a progress bar appears for about 5 seconds, and then it disappears and a message telling me to hit "back" if fails to download, but no options are shown on the previous page except the same "install" button.  (I checked the current version after several attempts to update and it is still the same older version.)  I nee no place to save a file for download and install later.  Thank you for the help.

The installer file downloads at step 2.  Please check the downloads location on your computer for the install file.
