Need flash player using firefox get a blank download manager screen running win 8.1

I'm needing to install flash player. I can't play any of my games on FB. I can download flash player with no problem. When I click on it to run it, I get a blank download manager screen. I have been trying to get flash player for over a week. I went into my Add-ons Manager in firefox and in there it says that I need to update. Under the tab that says Ask to activate, the Always Activate is grayed out. I can't figure how to make it so that Always Activate can be clicked on. I can't even run Photoshop CC 2015 with out it crashing.
