Hi kz94b5‌,

Can you Please try following the Steps suggested in this Post by Carm01:

Well,

First please save all the work which is open on any browser because we'll be closing all of them.

Grab the Uninstaller here:

http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe

run it; it will uninstall ALL flash player versions

Next let make sure you have the correct processes closed.

Open a CMD prompt Run a Command as Administrator from the Windows 7 / Vista Run box

copy/paste the following one by one or make a bat file to do it all in one step How to Write a Batch File (with Examples) - wikiHow

taskkill.exe /im plugin-container.exe /f

taskkill.exe /im firefox.exe /f

taskkill.exe /im iexplore.exe /f

taskkill.exe /im flash* /f

taskkill.exe /im battle* /f

That should close any flash dependent programs ( that I know of )

next in the cmd window do the following:

ATTRIB -H -S -R C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash /s /d

ATTRIB -H -S -R C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash /s /d

rmdir "C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash" /s /q

rmdir "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Player" /s /q

rmdir "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player" /s /q

IF exist C:\Windows\SysWOW64 rmdir "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash" /s /q

( note IF you are on 32 bit you can eliminate anything with sysWOW64 )

Next try installing the files at the bottom of this page one by one.

Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows‌

Also, Please ensure that your Anti-virus is turned off while uninstalling Flash Player.

Let us know if this works.

Thanks

Hi kz94b5,

I realize you've already installed Flash Player using the offline installer, however, I'd like to get the log files for the online installer that are resulting in this connection failed error to forward to the team that handles the online installer to troubleshoot further. The log files for the online installer are saved at C:\Users\YourUserID\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe_ADMLogs.  Please upload both of the files in this directory using the instructions here How to share a document and post the link to the files in your reply.

Thank you very much.

Hi kz94b5,

Thanks for posting the log files for the online installer.  The online installer downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background.  I'm seeing reference to a proxy server in the log file.  Do you have your computer configured to use a proxy server?  If so, how do you have it configured?

Thank you.

Hi kz94b5,

Based on logs it looks like your PC could not connect to internet at that time when installation was starting. Can you share the internet bandwidth/speed which you are using?

Thanks,

Thanks for the details. Can you give details if you have any anti-virus software running on your machine. Although Flash Player installer works with Anti-virus softwares but I have seen a case where Anti-cirus was conflicting. If possible can we have a screen share session with you at your convenient time to debug more and figure out the root cause. It should not take more than 15-20 minutes.

Thanks,

Hi!

Screen share session will be fine but it will have to be next week as I am away from home for the weekend. I have Avira antivirus and had it disabled at the time I was trying to install.

Thanks!

I had bounced (manually) from proxy to auto-detect proxy settings for this network—might have been in that state when the successful install occurred—had set it back to no proxy before receiving your request—both selections had resulted in a connection fail

Hi kz94b5,

Thank you for the additional information.  I have forwarded the log file and this thread to the team that handles the online installer, which is returning the error.  They'll investigate further.

I am experiencing this same problem and have tried the steps listed below with no success. Is there any way to save flash player on a flash drive from another computer and download it to this affected computer?

Frustrated,

Hi kitykat1074,

The offline installers posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows‌ page in the 'Still having problems' section.  This can be used on the same computer where the online installer is failing since it is the full installer whereas the online installer downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background and it is this background downloading of the installer that is failing.

While a number of users are experiencing this behaviour, we have not been able to reproduce it and would appreciate it if you could provide us with the install log files for the online installer to help troubleshoot.  If you have a few minutes, please do the following:

  1. Create an empty text file named ADM.trace inside your %temp% directory.  The file extension itself is .trace, not .txt or anything else.
      • Vista and above: C:\Users\<YourUserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\
      • XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<YourUserID>\Local Settings\Temp\
    • To create the empty text file, navigate to the %temp% directory, right-click in an empty area and select New > Text Document
    • Rename the new file to ADM.trace
  2. Run the online installer again until it stops
  3. Locate the Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log files inside the Adobe_ADMLogs directory in the %temp% directory
  4. Upload both of the files in this directory using the instructions here How to share a document‌
  5. Post the link to the files in your reply.

Thank you in advance.
