Background Update Resources for Debugger Flash

All,

Possibly a quick question...

Iv just set up an internal web service within our business to act as an update point for Adobe Flash player which seems to be working well, but we also have a number of staff across the office who use the Debugger version of Adobe flash, but i cant seem to find any way to take over the auto updating of this version of flash.

Can anyone advise if its possible to update this version internally ?

Hi fluxboxuk‌,

The update mechanism works only for release builds, not for debugger builds. Please find the following suggestions:

1. If they are working on a debugger build and use it in their day to day work, Please ask them to update Flash Player Debugger build from our  - Adobe - Adobe Flash - Downloads Page
2. If they have accidentally installed Flash Player(Debugger build) and have no use of it, Please silently update Flash to the release build using our offline installer Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows  & Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac‌. Please find te steps to silently install flash player - Silent install command line argument doesn't work | Flash Player 10.1

Bad news for us though, we have a corporate network whereby users do not have rights to install software on their local boxes, hence why we are looking to push the auto update solution out from one of our internal servers. I was going to run the adobe updating service under a higher privileged account so it could download the software and install it.

If the debugger version cant be controlled in the same way, then we will have to continue pushing out the package using Symantec ITMS (which is a pain) but it does the job..
