notannhavoc Jul 22, 2015 11:36 AM (in response to Peter Spier)There is/was no error message - only something along the lines of "there was an error with CC libraries" or some such thing - I no longer get that message because I managed to close the CC libraries window. and there is an x through the CC icon in that window. sorry I canot remember it exactly

4. Re: ID CC2015 - freezes on startup
notannhavoc Jul 23, 2015 6:30 AM (in response to Peter Spier)Thanks - but no -that didn't do anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled [which means having to re-download ID form the site - took more than 6 hours] and that did the trick - however - the files that I had been working on all came up with missing fonts - which I had to reassign. These fonts originally came form a Mac system . [This was also the case in my previous CC2014 freeze problem] I worked happily with the files for a bit. closed all - closed ID . Now, this morning - it is doing the same thing again - taking a very long time to bring up the welcome screen with the notification of new stuff in ID - I close that [takes about 10 minutes] and then try to open a file and again - each command takes forever - eg - trying to open a file.
Please, can you give me any suggestions? I think it is font related but in this case I have no files open that it is trying to load

5. Re: ID CC2015 - freezes on startup
Peter Spier Jul 23, 2015 8:45 AM (in response to notannhavoc)Does it work in a different user account?
Do you have any third-party plugins, like font activation?

6. Re: ID CC2015 - freezes on startup
notannhavoc Jul 23, 2015 9:43 AM (in response to Peter Spier)Thanks Peter - no = no 3rd party plugins - and I REALLY don't want to go the route of a new user account again - it took me so long to recover from the last time -so many other things had to be restarted, reinstalled, edited , changed - I will try uninstalling and reinstalling again - I do think it has something to do with fonts and the fact that Windows just installed another update

7. Re: ID CC2015 - freezes on startup
Peter Spier Jul 23, 2015 9:46 AM (in response to notannhavoc)It's a diagnostic test, and if it works, the new account can be used to fix the old one.

Peter Spier Jul 23, 2015 12:37 PM (in response to notannhavoc)Basically you delete the two version 11.0 folders from the Roaming and Local sections of your user profile (see Replace Your Preferences for the full path info), then copy the ones that were created in the new account and paste them into the original user profile. You must completely remove the original folders, not just merge the content.
