Can you post a screen-shot of the error message?
Did you try to install the latest versions 5.7.1 downloaded from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=113&platform=Windows
You say "re-install" - did you remove a previous version of LR from this PC and if yes which version?
Hi, thanks for your reply...I've uninstalled and re-installed Lightroom 5, this is the result...the first image shows, then the second appears when Lightroom launches. I've a subscription to Photoshop /Lightroom CC , (I'm going back to my "bought" versions of Lightroom 5 & Photoshop CS4) I've also tried un-installing these versions, including the Creative Cloud updater thinking they were interfering with the installation, to no avail.
To the first: Try the solution here: Configuration Error 5
To the second: This is when your license is not active for this installation. Make sure you are logged in to the account where you have your subscription active. Log out and back in: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/sign-in-out-activate-apps.html
Anyhow, I'd try to get rid of the first message in the first place.
Thanks in advance,(in case i don't reply for a while) i'll try uninstalling everything and simply install Lightroom
The second issue should have nothing to do with CC as Lightroom 5 is a stand alone product with its own SN, but i'll try your suggestions
I have my issue sorted, I used your solution, (delete all references to Adobe and start again), mind you, i had to contact Adobe support as i couldn't physically delete Adobe CC, they were very helpful in walking me through the process. Anyhow, thanks for your help
