FDS/LCDS is not required when the Flex application is not using it.
If you can post the exact error that is being thrown it would help to address the problem.
Thanks for the response, here is the error message that I am getting.
errorID = 0
faultCode = "Server.Processing"
faultDetail = (null)
faultString = "Permission denied"
message = "faultCode:Server.Processing faultString:'Permission denied' faultDetail:'null'"
name = "Error"
rootCause = (Object)#1
cause = (null)
localizedMessage = "Permission denied"
message = "Permission denied"
Obviously some data connection is failing due to permissions. My host, however, does not know what permisson is causing it and what the fix would be. Thanks for the input in advance
This is a crossdomain security sandbox issue.
The provider of the data your swf is attempting to access must have a crossdomain.xml file available that give you access.
Search the archives and google for lots more detail, and other solutions, like a proxy.
I checked the installation and developers guides for this and they both mention that crossdomain.xml is only necessary when swf and CF are on different domains. SWF file that I am running is at the wwwroot of the CF server. Do we still need a crossdomain.xml then?
No, but the domains have to be exactly the same.
Try a universal crossdomain file in wwwroot, see if it fixes the problem.
This was simply due to a Flash Remoting issue with my webhost. They fixed the problem with Flash Remoting and everything is working well know :)
