It should only take a few seconds to complete. Are you saying that the panorama never displays in the panorama screen? One thing to try (I know, I know, everyone says this) but if you haven't turned off GPU acceleration do that and see if it makes a difference.
Thank you for your fast reply.
Right. LR never displays any image. just a blank progress line on a grey box in the dialog box.
Why should I turn off the GPU acceleration to use LR Panorama? Isn't it weird?
The only answer I can give you is that right now GPU acceleration is weird. It's a work in progress that works for some computers, but doesn't work for a lot of others. I don't know if it will fix your problem or not. If that doesn't work then you could try deleting your preferences file so that Lightroom can create a new one.
Thank you Jim. I will try the GPU acceleration.
But LR6 was installed last night and I just open the first catalogue and try the new features of which Panorama is not working... very disappointing if I have to start making adjustments in my PC after paying for the full product... it shouldn't be this way.
I will let you know if turning GPU acceleration off solves the problem.
Thank you for your help
BTW you sent me a link to LR5?
I know, that's what's available right now. I think the location is still the same, Just a different filename. Substitute Lightroom 6 where appropriate.
As it has been for a long time with Photoshop, now with LR 6/CC 2015 you can hold down Ctrl-Alt-Shift or Cmd-Opt-Shift and start LR 6 and it'll ask to delete the preferences file for you, so you don't have to traipse through hidden folders, anymore. I only wish it also asked to disable the GPU as part of the reset, because resetting always enables it by default.
If you can't figure it out, can you upload your 4 original NEF images somewhere like dropbox.com or GoogleDrive or OneDrive and post a public share link to them, that way some of the rest of us can try them on our LR systems and see if they work for us. If they do then it's likely something local on your computer that is not working right. and there's a reason to keep trying. If they don't work for us then LR has a bug and nothing you can do with make them work so you can give up until the next release of LR. Keep in mind that his is an open, public forum, so any images you link to will be available to everyone until you delete them from the host website.
One thing to make sure is that you have the very latest LR 6.1.1 or LR CC 2015.1.1 installed in case some bugs have been fixed that would help.
Use LR / Help / System Info to see what version you are currently running.
If you're not running the latest update and are not being offered the update automatically, then you can download the updaters from here:
Thank you Ssprengel.
In the end it worked after restarting it a couple of times. It was very weird.
I assumed I'm using the latest version of LR6 since I bought it (and download it) 24 hours ago and installed it in a brand new pc.
So far it's working but I cannot understand why that happened.
It must be a bug, definitively.
Thank you for the links to the updaters, I will check them when I arrive home
