As many customers have noted, last week's Windows 8.1 update for Flash Player distributed by Windows Update, caused the debug version of Flash Player to be installed. This can be seen by slower performance, unusual error messages, or the word (Debug) following the version number after clicking "Check Now" on our Help page.
We're happy to announce that Microsoft has just released a corrected update that will resolve this problem. User's can access this updated version by forcing a Windows update or by simply visiting the Microsoft help page below and downloading and installing the correct version for their system.

Flash developers: Please note that Microsoft plans on making an updated debug installer available in the coming days. If having a debug version is critical, we recommend not downloading the KB install mentioned above.
