How do I erase authorization and reauthorize Digital editions when the program does not recognize my new password?

Books a Million advised me to Erase Authorization and Reauthorize Digital Editions as I can not Download a book.

I get "Error:  Check Activation" message. I changed my password, then found that my password should be

the same used for Books a Million.  So I changed it again. Now I am in password limbo.
