A .acsm file is not the book-file, it is like a tiny programme that is used to link you to the actual book-file. If you can see the file on your computer, double-clicking on it should get it to open Adobe Digital Editions and automatically download the actual book-file (which I think saves the book in the "My Digital Editions" folder ).
