WHY CAN'T I COPY A BOOK FILE TO MY E-BOOK DEVICE: FAILED TO WRITE DESTINATION FILE

For 4 days now different times different days I've been trying to copy several books from digital editions to my E-BOOK device(NOOK)  I keep getting an error message

FAILED TO WRITE DESTINATION FILE

I've never had this problem before PLEASE HELP !!!!!!
