How do I delete an activation account with no password and old email account?

I can't access any books in Digital Editions because I can't connect my activation account. I don't have access to that old email address anymore and I don't remember my password.

I've just spent 2 hours in live chat with Adobe. If you have this problem they say there's is nothing that can be done. He suggested deleting the software as it will never work for you and to use OverDrive instead.
