I just installed RH7 upgrade from RH x3 on a new system. I moved my old projects from my X3 system to the new install and going to open my MPJ file getting a error "This file is not an HPJ file. Please select an HPJ file to open."
It was my understanding that I should be able to import my old x3 in to RH7. Is this not the case? Did a search and could not find an answer.

MPJ file is not compatible with RoboHelp X7. Try this out -
1) Compile your project files (X3) using HTML workshop and use the HHP.
2) Open the HHP using RoboHelp X7 and compile the files.

Note: After you compile the files, you cannot use them in lower versions of RoboHelp - guess it chokes.

Hope this helps!!!

Another option is to generate a .chm output file in X3 and use RH7 HTML Studio to extract all files into a new project folder.

If you extract the contents of a .chm file, we need to do the following:

1) Project file (.hhp) will need to be created.
2) HHC, HHK, GLO files, Style sheets et al files need to be imported and complied.
3) Output in X7 needs to be compared and checked against output in X3 for content correctness, styles, formatting etc.

True.

I should have said the new files should go into a new folder (not the RH project forlder).

You would launch a new project in RH 7 (takes care of hhp and other furniture) and import all topics, baggage files, etc.
