Why is Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 behaving badly?

Why is Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 making two copies of downloaded books and not letting me access borrowed books once copied to my e-reader?  Content locked message even though both computer and e-reader authorized.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled ADE many times, as well as cleared out the files from the Digital Editions folder on my PC - many times.  Now as soon as I launch ADE 4.5 it automatically puts two copies of the file in even though I haven't downloaded it from the library site again.  I'm at my wits end.

I don't know what you mean by activate the syncro-function.  Could you explain this process to me please.

Check the Setting under Edit > Preferences.
