Adobe doesn't recognize e-reader

Adobe Digital Editions on my (new) Macbook doesn't recognize my sony e-reader. E-reader says it is recognized by the computer, and i can see and read the folders of the e-reader.

Sony Reader for Mac also doesn't recognize e-reader. But e.g. Calibre does.

Reader for Mac should work because is a Sony Reader. You should contact Sony Support and ask for it.

Sony says its reader for mac is not compatible with OSX el Capitan. Because the stopped producing e-readers, it is doubtful they will upgrade the software.

That not fine, but Digital Edition can not work with Sony readers. Has you a other Device what you can used with has no 10.11?
