HI carolr96281801,

What does "why wont my flash player activate" mean?  What happens when you try to view Flash content?  What browser is this on?

Hi carolr96281801,

When you install Flash Player, does it finish successfully or are there errors?

Please ensure Flash Player is enabled and ActiveX Filtering is disabled:

Hi carolr96281801,

Is there an error message?  I'd be great if you could provide a screenshot (see How to post a screenshot in the forum).

The install log files will also help investigate the failure.  Please provide the following files:

  • FlashInstall.log file saved at the following location:
    • 32 Bit Windows:
      • C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall.log
    • 64 Bit Windows (both files are required from a 64-bit OS):
      • C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall.log
      • C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall.log
  • Adobe_ADM.log and Adobe_GDE.log saved at the following location:
    • C:\Users\<YourUserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe_ADMLogs

You can upload the files to cloud.acrobat.com using the instructions How to share a document or use some other file sharing service of your choosing.  Provide the URL to the uploaded files in your reply.

Thank you.

Hi carolr96281801,

The screenshot did not post.

I'm assuming you're using the online installer downloaded from get.adobe.com/flashplayer.  Can you try the offline/standalone installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page in the 'Still having problems' section?  If it doesn't complete, please take and post a screenshot of the installer dialog window.

Thank you.
