Why does the Dialogue box "connection error detected" come up when I'm clearly ONLINE

Why does the dialogue box reading "connection error detected" telling me I am not connected to the internet when I am clearly on the HPL website trying to download my book. I have deleted and reinstalled the program twice now and still nothing. I am fully connected to the internet on my PC windows 7xp... Need help,very annoyed.
