4k iMac (Late 2015) black screen flashing/flickering

Hi malcombkobe,

Please follow the below steps and check if this helps.

> Launch Photoshop

> Click on Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw

> Uncheck the option Use Display adaptor

> Click on OK

> Click on Photoshop > Preferences > Performance

> Click on Advanced Settings

> Change the Drawing mode to Basic

> Uncheck Use OpenCL

> Click on OK

Restart Photoshop and check for the issue.

I am having the same problem, same iMac etc. I have tried a number of things to see if I can isolate the problem, detaching all peripherals, logging in as a different user etc. The problem still persists and will only stop happening when I change the state of the canvas, i.e. zoom in or out, which will give me maybe a couple minutes good grace to continue working in, but then the problem will start happening again.

System specs are as follows:

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015)

Processor: 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536 MB

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Version 13.0.6

Please help as this problem is a real problem for workflow.

Hello excuse me, i've recently bought the same mac and I'm having the same black screen flashing problems either with Lightroom (especially when using the brush) and with Photoshop.

i also have other problems when using Lightroom brush: the changes I try to apply are not applied fluently, but with delay and in square portions of the area at different times. i have filmed the problems   I'm having in a video that i can send id it can help to understand and solve. I have the same installed Adobe Lr CC and Adobe Photoshop CC on my old MacBookPro and it works perfectly there. Please help me, cause this is creating a strong negative impact on my workflow.

Under the Camera Raw preferences, there is no option for Use Display Adaptor that I can see. I followed your steps for setting the Draw mode to Basic and unchecking Use OpenCL but unfortunately this has changed nothing.

Hi everyone,

I have the sam iMac 4K, the latest version of Photoshop and I am experiencing the same problem as described by users malcomkobe, matt_ingram, pitspits.

Working in PS with this problem becomes a very hard task. I hope Adobe can fix asap because I bought this iMac only in order to work with my pictures in PS.

Periferiche TWAIN installate: NESSUNA

Hello!

We have the exact same problems on 6 late 2015 iMacs 16gb ram (elcap), and some of our designers have it constantly and consistently throughout the day. It's not just photoshop, indesign and illustrator too.

Hoping to see a resolution to this soon!

I've had this problem ever since I bought mine, 3 months ago. Nothing that Apple Care suggested seemed to work. Then, while fiddling cluelessly with the System Settings, I may have fixed it.

Go to Displays, choose "Scaled", and then select some resolution other than "default". Then, where you chose "Scaled", change back to "Default". This did the trick for me. Immediately after that, the flashes stopped and it's been a couple of weeks now.

By the way, this bug is not exclusive to Photoshop. It happens whenever a custom cursor changes back to a default one. Even some websites (like zappos) can suffer from this.
